PrepKit keeps almost nothing. This page says exactly what it does keep, why, and how to make it go away.

What stays on your Mac

Your resume, the job description, your notes, every transcript, every answer PrepKit writes, every recording, and your API key. None of it is sent to us, because there is nowhere for it to go: PrepKit has no server in that path. Speech is transcribed on your machine by a model that runs locally.

Prompts go from your Mac to whichever model provider you configured, using your own API key, under your own agreement with them. We never see them.

What we store, and why

Only what is needed to know that a licence is valid:

The lawful basis is performance of a contract. We are not asking for consent to any of it, because none of it is optional — without it the licence cannot work. There is no analytics, no tracking, and no cookie on this website.

Who else touches it

Amazon Web Services, which hosts the licence server and sends the sign-in email, in the United States. When card payments are added, the payment provider will be the merchant of record and will hold the billing details; we will not.

How long we keep it

Your account for as long as you have one. Sign-in codes for fifteen minutes. When you delete your account, the record and every install identifier attached to it are deleted outright — not flagged, not archived. What survives is the number of times a promo code has been used, which has no name attached to it.

Getting rid of it

In PrepKit: Settings → Account → Delete account. You will be emailed a code to confirm it is you, and then the account is gone. That is the right to erasure, and it does not need a request form.

For anything else — a copy of what we hold, a correction, or a complaint — email useprepkit@gmail.com. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Recording an interview

Nothing is recorded unless you switch recording on, and recordings are written to your own disk and never uploaded. The delivery measurements — pace, pauses, filler words — are arithmetic over the transcript and the audio on your Mac. No model listens to your voice to produce them.

Recording the person interviewing you is a separate setting from recording yourself, deliberately. In several US states and in much of Europe, recording someone else requires their agreement, and that is your decision to make rather than ours to make for you.
